Congratulations on completing your initial application for financial aid!
Once your FAFSA is processed (24 hours to 2 weeks) you will receive a copy (electronically if you provided an e-mail address) of your Student Aid Report (SAR) from FAFSA which summarizes the information you submitted. Review it carefully for errors and if necessary, make corrections at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO PROVIDE TO MCC
As soon as you receive your SAR, begin watching your MCC e-mail, your home mailbox, and your MCC self service portal. A checklist of items for you to complete and/or return to MCC will be listed under the Financial Aid tab on your self service portal . Financial aid applications will not be complete until all additional forms are filled out and returned to the college.
COMPLETING THE APPLICATION PROCESS
After all forms have been returned to the college, your award packet will be reviewed. If you qualify for aid, an offer letter will be applied to your self service portal. In the event you do not qualify for financial aid, you will be notified by the college by mail and/or on your self service portal.
According to NC state law, tuition and fees must be paid at the time of registration. Unfortunately, financial aid cannot be guaranteed to any student who has not received an offer letter by one of the following dates:
